khajuraho: the eastern group

Risking boring all of you to death with trips from the December holiday here is the last from khajuraho. The eastern group of temples not all neatly segregated away with a compound wall- instead in the middle of fields and villages with locals lounging on h the steps and washing clothes in the nearby streams. The jain complex is a little different though. Some older temples but also a lot of new stuff- clean and white and marble. The older temples have hindu and jain icons all mixed up. The runs of a temple currently being excavated are also here with the parts of the building all laid out neat and clean waiting to be reassembled
