two days of cleaning and arranging the house for a grand lunch for the family today. everything is in its right place, and those things that couldn’t have been thrown or hidden in drawers away from view.
it amazes me that we have so many things that we think are essential to our lives when we have not laid eyes on them for at least 10 years. my tape collection is now packed and waiting disposal as space was needed for some more books.
in between spurts of cleaning i am reading a completely silly ‘a natural history of love’.- american simplistic and faux poetic descriptions of lurve from the times of the ancient egyptians to modern times. it’s like a diverting little discovery travel and living show. light on the brain and meant for misty eyed romantics like me looking for pseudo intellectual fodder.
and the house looks beautiful in the morning. it rained all night and now the sun is out streaming clear light on the leaves on the overgrown plants in the garden. the colors of the outside are inside on the green sheer curtains. its a languid lazy morning.
