kaushik at ateyas presentation
the tracing urbanism presentations were held yesterday. naturally, technology failed mukul and me as the dvd and the pen drive both did not open when they had to. we managed with the old photographs, but sorely missed some of the more dramatic ones takes on our second day of photography.
saruabh, aditya and ranjits ‘almost graphic novel but not quite’ paintings got quite a reaction from all of us with a debate about the colours, the images, etc. whether the picture they painted was too rosy or where the sense of the impending doom was.
ateyas paper on ganpati mandals had some great images of ganpati especially the one where ganpati and gandhi are morphed into one. rupalis ‘tactical city’ has these great formal interventions in the city.. funny and enjoyable.
after the discussions we had a drinking and gossip session at gokul after a long time. the seedy smoky interior of the rear room has been the site for a great many drunken sessions post udri lectures. on the way back, we wove our way thorugh the immersion processions slowing traffic down on p dmello road through the eastern waterfronts.
gokulon the way to town.. saurabh and aditya
