I Kill Giants. Joe Kelly, J M Ken Nimura. 2008.
In spite of the potentially sappy story the graphics are terrific, as are the characters- the girl in denial, her new friend, the class bully, the sister trying to make ends meet and be strong, the school counselor, in an almost anime suburban America where the girl sees the threat of giants everywhere after her mother is diagnosed with cancer. And when the giant arrives, the battle sequence is fabulously drawn. You are stronger than you think.
