the week before annuals

this one marked by visitors from abroad every second day. first from nottingham and i regurgitated my images from the highway and link road for them. they are here on a ‘transience’ workshop all next week. wednesday came the americans- this time with someone who presented us with options on how to preserve our ‘wonderful old towns’. and today to top it all ole bouman from the netherlands arrived with a huge contingent of people from all kinds of disciplines and presented ‘beyond archiecture’ speaking of disappearance and electronic signage as architecture. after him i brought out those damn photographs again but this time a little less irnicaly and more polemically – hoping to complicate the heroic ideas of speed and ephemerality that he spoke about. paul ended with the dharavi presentation.

meanwhile in the evening after i sat and wtched the kids play a tug-of-war on the lawns amid much booing and catcalls. a great way to chill out after a mad hectic week. on monday the seminar starts for two days and then the workshops until the end of the week.
