it was a privilege to be in delhi at a house in the company of architects who have thought about architecture for years in serious and profound ways. in aya nagar in the middle of basti where the sewage flows between dusty streets, you take a turn into an island of red brick houses in the middle of trees. the group of houses lay at the very top of the rocky outcrop that overlooked a valley of slums. from the roof of the room where i was put up srivatsan and i could see the smog lift over the houses. the conversation was about architecture and philosophy. i was way out of my depth in so many instances and felt more than ever the need to know more. this year my project is this.
