the lecture series this year: 'the object of architecture, the architecture of the object'

 

this year's theme for the lecture series evolved out of questions concerning architectural form and language. the proposed title ' the architecture of the object, the object of architecture  meant to provoke some thinking on the relationship between what architecture calls its domain and its ever shifting edge and the was in which practitioners address it through the making of form. it was about choices and decisions. besides the student exhibition there was also an exhibition of the work of the architects invited to conduct workshops with the students over 4 days. they included a group of architects form china including wang ge form gafa, anita tikoo matange, flying elephant, anagram, suhasini iyer, praveen bawdekar and ahsok lall. romi khosla gave the main lecture ont he final day and a discussion between them was moderated by neelkanth chhaya who needled and prodded them about their work.
