Mathematics is the imperfect model for mapping the world. Our incorruptible hero is the constant in spite of the ‘adjustments’ made all around him- from beds that can be bought at hospitals to cuts from suppliers. His will is stronger especially after his mother passes away. On a trip to India he visits the NCPA under construction, or talks to Americans in Pune , or is in rural Maharashtra. He seeks the Himalayas where his father died.
