No one speaks in this otherwise fairly conventionally plotted teen angst drama with the corrupt kids and manipulative elders. Prostitution, robbery, rape.. The gruesomeness does not let up and there seems to a purposeful attempt to distance is from the characters. The conceit of the film makes the deaf and dumb into animals, especially when framed within these floating steadicam takes that observes them from a distance.
