A 60’s built, CIAM inspired housing project whose most prominent buildings are the high rises in a honeycomb pattern is reconfigured by strategic demolition and infill with other types of housing. The grade separated roads are removed and replaced with boulevards. The high rises themselves are transformed by strategically opening out the rcc shafts of the staircase to make them more visible - “eyes on the street”. New Municipal buildings, markets, metro stations are built. As is a memorial in one sector to those who dies when a cargo plane crashed into some of the buildings and killed a few inhabitants.
