As an apology for Japanese atrocities during their Chinese occupation the first episode of the post war Japanese epic sees our hero Kaji believe that he through love and understanding and some comfort women control his bunch of Chinese prisoners of war so that they can become better labour. He fails but unlike Shantaram in Do Aankhen Barah Haath released two years earlier he does not die.
